God A.I. and Humans

There is a question which is centuries old and still asked by many. The question is- "Is there any God? If yes, does he cares about us?"

The same question was asked me to myself several times. To get the answer, I started digging many old and new books- From scientific books like "the theory of everything by Stephens Hawkin" to religious books like Bhagwad Geeta,Quran and Bible.

As you can imagine, finding this answer is not straight forward. I keep searching for this. Then one day I started comparing A.I. to the human mind. In normal case one would try to compare A.I. advancement while keeping human mind as base. I did the comparison in reverse way. Means, I kept the A.I. advancement as base and compared human mind with it.

A.I. enables us to feed the data and it gives output only based on previous experience or predefined rules. A.I. can also help find the pattern out of scattered data. A.I. usually has multiple stages through which data passes and get transformed, one stage's output feed data to next stage as input. This process can be reversed to get interesting results too.

Doesn't our human mind works like this, actually A.I. tries to mimic to human brain. Am I making any sense?

A.I. improves with number of iterations or say time so does human. If we code to penalise A.I. for its mistakes it will learn from mistakes so does human.

So what is a perfect A.I. - which can take situational decisions without being biased and without taking external help. How much time we can take to built such perfect A.I. - that's debatable. My prediction is never for a generic A.I. . Although we can create A.I. for specific tasks but creating a generic A.I - I will wait and watch.

My question to myself was - Can God program such a perfect A.I.? God can do anything right? Thus he created us(human mind per se) which is an example of perfect A.I.

The best thing about perfect AI is that it doesn’t need changes to its program to reach a sensible output in a changed condition.

Take example of Tesla autonomous driving as an example- in its earlier phase people find it buggy to take decision by itself. Turns and lane changing were not smooth. But even without software update it got better.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tesla_Autopilot
https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2016/jul/01/tesla-autopilot-model-s-crash-how-does-it-work

Similarly human makes mistake, God is not here to guide us - what to do next? We have to figure it out by ourselves. And as we know God makes no mistakes - he has given us inherit capabilities to learn and guide ourself in almost every condition. If you get hurt physically, you learn to avoid the same mistake. Simple!

So there is a God who built us so beautifully that we can guide can ourself to achieve anything. Buddha, Muhammad and Mahavir got their learning and lessons by themselves and tried to make this world a better place to live in.

Eventually, we can do the same. We need not to follow what our traditions and religions say. Following those only fall in supervised learning, which is not a big deal to code. What matters is - unsupervised learning, we are built for that. If we used to follow what is said before- there would no no new inventions. Take any modern product and show it to 200 year old guy - he would say all these inventions as magic or trick. This is the beauty of our human mind that we can think what other haven't thought of till date. Take Einstein as  an example - " His special theory of relativity" was a matter of debate that. He thought of himself and today we are just enough capable of proving his various theories through experiment because at that these experiment were not possible.

https://www.wired.com/2017/06/physicists-find-another-gravitational-wave-prove-einstein-right/

God probably is busy doing some other stuffs than monitoring our human life every once here and there. If he has not created the best version of A.I., he would have launched A.I. V2.0 long back then- you never know which version you are. As God is the perfect maker - I don't think he need to maintain any version. Otherwise, versioning is itself a complicated tool. But do you think God has made a mistake so he needs to bring version V2.0?? Not, right??

I believe in him. He created us directly the best version and revolution and evolution lies within us. It is our capabilities what we want to learn and achieve from this infinite universe.

Remember, you can be Tesla - driven by itself or a Chevy - driven by some human. [Sorry Chevy I have to take your name till you reach a good level of AI].

Rehauling Higher Education in India

We know that current state of higher education in India is not in top form. Here are some points which I want to highlight..
*** Current Scenario
1. Theory based University Education.
2. More weight-age to theoretical papers.
3. Poor Infrastructure.
4. Severe negligence to intelligent students who are very good a particular subject not in all subject.
5. Lack of experienced teacher in terms of industrial exposure.
6. Government funding is not sufficient or funding is mismanaged.
7. Syllabus is not upto-date.
8. Student feedback system is absent or not known.
9. NPTEL course material is good enough but not known to all university.
10. Some university sessions run late due to which a degree course takes more time than required.
*** What can be done::
1. Training of faculty members to
1.1 update about current industrial standards
1.2 update about current industrial trends
1.3 appreciate the efforts of students who want to go beyond the syllabus and want to invent/develop something.
1.4 having proper practical knowledge of subject.
1.5 conduct workshops relevant to their majors
2. Time to time inter university or Intra- University initiatives, competitions and workshops
3. Universities should have special fund to invest in an idea or project if found promising.
4. Proper infrastructure so that students can do their hands-on effectively and efficiently.
5. Keeping the practical tool updated: e.g: TurboC is still used in universities whereas it's support has been withdrawn from 2009. Similarly Adobe Flash is going to be absolute so there is no need to put efforts in learning that.
6. Although arrangement of guest faculties is norm in universities/colleges, but still not very popular form of teaching. We can do this arrangement for specific topics instead of subject specific.
7. Free availability of research papers are available for few universities only, government can make some arrangements that small colleges and universities get same kind of benefits also.
8. In every universities we can have an IP(Intellectual Property) Panel, which help to expedite to get patents for the innovations done by students during their college term.
9. Government can put some incentive program for universities who keep on publishing new research papers. This will increase competitive environment.

Book review part -6 : Being Mortal

This is the second book from Atul Gawande that I have just read, what a thought provoking and ground shaking book it is. Both of the books are distinctly connected to each other. In “checklist Manifasto” he talks about how checklist can save lives and in being mortal he talks about how one should die.
I have read only a few dozens of non-curriculum books but non of them talked about this issue even in small details. The only reason I can conclude is – Death is ultimate fear of one's life, we are scared to core just thinking about it. Hearing “Death” word gives you some or other kind of goosebumps, but can you escape it- No, probably never. If it is unavoidable – do you want to talk about it- there is also a No here.
This is what Atul has accomplished in this book, he talked about it and talked pretty gracefully and interesting. No where in the book it feels boring or too scary.
Book's tag line is -”Medicine and what matters in the end”. And same is the motto of writer. Whatever Atul is trying to conclude can't be covered in this review. This book is highly recommended for people who are more than 50 and for those who are taking care such people.
Some focus points of this book are as follow:
  1. This book helps you decide whether you should opt for medical help or not. if taken medical help how long you should be taking it and when you can decide to stop it.
  2. This will also help whether to get medical help at home or in hospital or in hospice.
  3. This is another book which establishes connection between a healthy person with helping family.
  4. You will also notice beside family and medicine, there are other factors that can help you get well
  5. It tells you difference between your horizon vs Doctor's horizon.

This is a book of reference of its own kind, if you have it you will definitely revisit it throughout your life. One worthy for book for our bookShelf(physical or digital).

Before it goes to Ctrl+alt+del its time to Ctrl+s

I born in a town (Sasaram) where I have literally no access to nature. I was introduced to nature by none other than Mike Pandey. After watching "Earth Matters" I got to know why loved to visit the nurseries around my town. These nurseries are situated in the far West of the  town. Around these nurseries there is a dense bunch of trees. Since my childhood I loved that place, I didn't know the reason behind it.
After reading various books and during my PG in environmental science, I found the reason behind it. And the reason is not complex besides nature being fairly complex. And the reason is - we are made by nature so there is no-brainer that we like it by default. It's inside us, we have to listen and follow our heart. Then our mind will act in similar manner.

I can still remember those rainy days when I used to just stare on trees, plants , ponds while it was raining. This could go on and on for even several hours. I never felt guilty watching rain even my next day was term end exam.

Recently I visited to Pangot and the most amazing thing there was - crystal clear sky at night if no clouds wandering here and there. That moment my eyes felt alive- my mind dived into the depth of the sky. I was calm and relax. And that type of calmness I felt only when I was in Kanatal in 2012. It took 3 years to reach that soul level calmness. My whole office was partying in the night while I was busy watching stars at Pangot. What I missed most there- my family should have been there to watch those stars along side me.

We have surely forgotten our roots, from where we came(city, village?), from where our food comes(malls, supermarket?), from where the fresh refreshing air comes(ACs?) from where our drinking water comes(water purifiers, municipality?). If you think any of the answer in the bracket is right- sorry to say you have surely not gone close to the nature enough. There is one answer to all the questions- All comes from the nature in their raw form, you need not to refine them to reach you. And these things comes from nature for free. See the current scenario you can correlate by yourself
  1. You now pay for food, if you are a farmer- you have almost no choice but to purchase seeds from big corporates.
  2. You now pay for fresh air- through air purifiers or air conditioners.
  3. You now pay for water- municipality, water purifiers and water tankers
If we don't stop polluting our mother Earth, future can be very dark where we have to purchase some compressed air to breath, just what already happened to your drinking water. We need to stop this mess. And the best way to do it is to-
  1.  teach our kids the value of nature, by taking them away from city or town to a natural place.
  2.  Saving the nature in its current situation i.e. Ctrl+s and then step by step giving nature back whatever we have taken from it.
If we don't start Ctrl+S nature can take its measure to rectify it which is equivalent to Ctrl+Alt+Del. Surely you don't want this to be happen to your kids. I have already written the current scenario in details what can be done through the tag.
Some images of nature can be found at

“I’m blogging about how I’ll remind kids to press Ctrl+S for nature for the Shortcut Safaari weekend activity at BlogAdda.”

How to Empower Women

I have been observing women and their difficulties in empowerment since my childhood. Whether it is for political power or power to put any point in family.

Whatever I know through my experience is that- everybody wants some kind of power. Women also want power, but their choice of power may be different from men. That’s why I think it took this long claim their equality. Why I am saying this – because if women wanted equality like men they would have regained very earlier.

Women constitute 50% of human population. How 50% of population can dominate other 50%. Do you have any reason for this, I don’t have any. Women’s 50% consists of mother and wife. How many men do you think can survive without mother and wife 5 to 10%?  Your answer.

If women lost their power in the process of civilization or modernization, I would blame them too, why? Because you can’t expect from anybody to not to take advantage of you (women) if you don’t let it happen. It’s a known fact that women lack unity, this is why taking advantage of them is easy.

Tell me some good example of women unity in comments if you have any. If you talk about India, you will say women don’t dominate due to lack of education or a patriarchal society, but what about west. Why even Google, Facebook and Microsoft are trying very hard to bring more women onboard……….where is the fault? Whom to blame? Interviewer?  Company Policy? Family pressure?
According to USA’s National science foundation women have higher degree ratio but men dominate them in science and technology. It’s under 25% (Means- for every 100 students, there are more than 75 men and less than 25 women - Tell me dear women how do you really expect equality when you are opting out high paying and technological degrees (STEM in particular) by yourself.

See the report now
Dear ladies, if you want luxury of equality, you have to work hard equally like men. You have to come out of comfort zone. Please don’t want a Prince charming who will come and you won’t have to work ever. I know most of you are not like this but still there are male dominating field and women dominating field. And most dominating field is not that tough as you may think. Like being a computer science engineer. It require all the skills your already have or you can gain it from the hard work and experience.

I am waiting for ladies to join these fields where they should be present.

Ye Noida hai bhai

If you are a frequent traveller to Noida you must have heard this term, "Ye Noida hai bhai/bhaiya yahan aise hi chalta hai".
So what are the common things you can find here occurring commonly. I would like to list few of them here, comment the things you find the same or different .
  • The most irritating thing for me is unnecessary honking. Every morning my mind looses it peace.
  • Redlight jumping.
  • What is hell is "zebra crossing ". Nobody knows it.
  • Halting the car/tempo/bus in the middle of road.
  • Chain /Mobile snatching
  • When it's redlight even if your left turn is free you won't get any path due to congestion made by vehicles waiting for redlight.
  • Footpath is the extra place where bikers can ride if its possible.
  • Using foot over bridge is too much
  • Even car theft is not a big deal here.
  • Usual electricity fluctuations
  • Lack of good public transport inside Noida. It basically rely on DTC buses of Delhi and Vikram tempo(auto)

I have been living in Delhi NCR for past 8 years, and ask any delhite will you prefer living in noida with same facilities available. I hope 90% won't prefer it. Reason being security and electricity.
Being an Indian citizen I don't want to see such condition for Delhi NCR. It includes Gurgaon too. Gurgaon got similar problems but not such level as Noida. And what is the drawback of these:
  • People are now less interested in real state of Noida. This is the reason why for the similar kind of real estate prices are higher in Gurgaon than Noida. This means serious loss of revenues for government.
  • People are unafraid of traffic rules because I have hardly seen any body being challaned for the violations of traffic rules. So again loss of government revenues.
  • Due to lesser security and bad maintenance of infrastructures big MNCs are avoiding Noida too. Again the loss of revenues.
If government is not willing to improve situation it is going to be worse. I am appealing UP government that please maintain Noida this will help building image of UP, Noida and your administration.

How every House wife makes money

We have a notion that homemakers don't contribute to the family income.  But reality is very different, I would say that a normal home maker or so called housewives earns up to 20k per month.

Before reading further I would like to say that I am not comparing anybody to anybody. I am just trying to point out economic perspective of housewives and want to create more respect for them.
So let's start.(Figures are in monthly basis in INR)

1 They cook for us 5k- 10k
2 They took care children 5k- 10k
3 They took care for house cleanliness 2k- 05k
4 Further managing your home budget 2k -05k
Total 14k -30k

These are some tasks which are just highlighted for the example perspective.  Any home maker does a lot more than that. I want to highlight first point specially that there are more benefits for cooking at home, if you eat cooked food at home made by your family member.

It has been proved that those who eat home cooked food have a good health. If you are healthy this health can save you around 10-20k in a year on average. This makes a typical housewife earning you around 4 Lakh Indian rupees minimum in a year. Therefore, we can see that a normal home maker saves much more  money than I can calculate or you can imagine.

By calling home maker or housewife, I don't want to suggest that it's only a women job.A man can be a good homemaker. It should be personal or mutual choice that who will play this role.If anyone is opting for being a home maker we should not think him/her anywhere inferior than who is earning for family.

Dear readers, if you have a housewife or your mom as a homemaker - have respect towards her. She may not be earning money directly but always remember - "Money saved is money earned"

Is Laundry a woman job

Woman & Laundry. It seems to be a normal combination. It’s not because both have the perfect relationship, its reason is that we are grown up to see this since our childhood. We have always asked our mom to do laundry favour for us. We never asked dad to clean our green shirt and our favourite jeans to wear it the next day. I agree, there are few men who do their laundry by themselves. But they wash their own clothes only and the family's clothes care should be taken by the woman in the home.

To clarify the fact that “we have not achieved the gender equality in this century for at least the laundry thing(though there are many things)". Search for images "woman washing clothes" . You will be bombard with n number of results. And now search for images of "man washing clothes". If you observe, there were more real life images in case of woman.  But in case of man, there are more pictures clicked for modeling or intentionally clicked to show.

But when it comes to do the professional laundry men dominate. Similarly in the case of chef professionals. Why women do the laundry or more precisely why they are make to the laundry. From my opinion it is just of division of labour we made throughout our cultural progress. In the progress of society somehow men dominated and made women to do the household chores. When only men were earning money in the family, women became very much dependent on them. This reason made women more vulnerable to various household things. And laundry is one of them. A lot of damage is already done. Damage in the sense, it became more then a tradition and declared laundry as women's task without analyzing the current and past situations. Time is changing, so we have to think what we have to do and what not.Now washing machines are there to made it easier to do the laundry as well as good detergents too. Though washing clothes in washing machine also take effort. We women have to make men realize that it is not something that only we should take care, men also live in the same house so they have to play their part too.

Some of the facts collected by a survey conducted by Ariel:-

Sometimes men just don't realize these things because they see it as a natural tradition as their mothers haven't asked them to do so. So the same men expects the same things from her wife regardless of her working status. We have to make them realize this thing to our husbands and our children too. If its tough for them to do the household chores after working whole day in office, same applies to a woman. For all the men who help their wives or mothers in household work, please share your experience and pleasure of sharing the work. This is the best way I can think we can break this traditional labeling.

I am writing for #IsLaundryOnlyAWomansJob activity at BlogAdda.com in association with Ariel.

Open letter to Nitish Kumar

To be very frank I was always a fan of Nitish Kumar from the days he was rail minister of India in the NDA Govt. Even the electronic railway counter of Sasaram was inaugurated by him. So it was very obvious for me to like him . He  made three lane three parallel railway track from Mughalsarai to Dehri on Sone which always covers Sasaram. So I was very found of his visions.

Then NDA Govt. fell but in the state elections he became our C.M. We knew that he will become one of  the famous CMs of all time, and he did no lesser, the second state election gave him clear verdict that every body likes him. He had done tremendous work in those 5 years . There is no denying of his hard work. Due to/during his reign Biharis got respect everywhere .But things changed very much in 2013. Modi was elected as PM candidate from BJP /NDA. Then our CM mr got this ideological conflict from BJP.Nothing was wrong boycotting Modi as he might be major reason for fight between Hindus n Muslims (our brothers) .

In my opinion what got Mr. Kumar wrong is that he broke long relationship to NDA in the name of secularism. Mr Kumar may be right that Modi is not that much secular. But the thing is -a friend's friend is a friend. So modi became your friend directly or indirectly. If he is not secular it's a friend duty to teach him the lesson of Unity and secularism. I will give you mine example. A very fast friend of mine used to tease and taunt girls. Once I listen these comments and got to know my friends reality, I gave him lessons and I got no complaints further  . So being in NDA you may have changed Mr Modi's mindset but you chose different path. And you decided to resign if Modi becomes PM. We love your visions don't leave the post which truly deserves you.

Starting to haunt women initiative

Yes ladies,u just read right. I have decided to haunt you. I will follow you in your day to day paths,I will sit just beside you in metro, bus, train instead of having other vacant seats.
Now collect all your abuses and scream those to me .
Hope you feel Lil better after abusing me . Now you will say two things
      1. Isme naya kya h or those who know will ask
      2. Why this step?? And why now.

Let me start explain myself before you leave this blog. Actually recent incidents against women hurt me so badly to think about men n women. What I can do or what a woman can do or what a society should do?
First woman can do two things .
  • To teach their child how to respect women. This is very serious matter as I usually find women have a causal n usual disrespect against another women. Common things like the girls who hang out with boys other women consider those as bad girls without knowing anything. The list is long...Who goes to party , who drinks, who smokes, who comes late last but not the least who has a boy friend.I as a boy learn to respect any girl because I never heard my Mom complaining any girl over the above mentioned reasons. So I think respect for girls came naturally to me.
  • Secondly and more importantly , never hide your harassment , fear or concern. It's a bad world for the weak ones, the more you hide the more things will get worse for you. Don't fear anybody and anything. If somebody is against you, remember that you yourself are sufficient for any resistance. We guys will follow you...lead the way Ladies!!!..
Ye to ho gayi from ladies to ladies waali baat , now what gentle man should do so that there is,no  harsh behaviours or harassment to ladies.
Here I want to make a single point that in most of the cases its not the bad guys that harasses a girl it's the good guy who stops protecting the girl.
So,the above one is the women part of does and don't s.. Now let us move to more serious part. The men part of role. When we hear Any news of women harassment we just ignore as this is not happening to our family. We care only about our family, we got zero attachment of a person belonging to another family.so here I want to appeal to the good guys please make a protective cover to girls. There are very some simple steps you can follow to save some sisters and mother of others.
  1. Following the ladies path: whenever u find a single woman please follow her at max, follow more incase of you find other following her too. This may scare her in the way but at last she can reach the destination safely.
  2. Standing side by side: this step should be followed by men in the buses, train n metro. many times men take advantage of crowd and harass women in the crowd. So let take a, pledge that good guys will create a crowd around women wherever whenever they can.

Equality Society and Mathematics

I always try to analyse day to day things from my perspective. I always wonder about so called equality. Whether in mathematics or in society.  Let's try to understand it better with simple examples.
If somebody breaks a red-light what is the fine ?? let's say 200 RS. and its same for all people .
This is so called equality from our law. I simply don't agree. Because 200 RS doesn't value same for all people. A person earning million and a person earning thousands do have same feeling for 200 RS ???
NO right?
Then how can we say law is same for all??
That's why I am always a fan of %[Percentage] in mathematics. It gives the real feel of equality for humans. If you spend 10% of your income. No matter how much you earn your feeling and a person whose income is 40% of your income will feel the same. Isn't it??
So in my opinion for any service which is supposed to be in the category of equality  should  contain a equation like
                                             y= z*x +k;
Where

  • y= Service cost
  • z= constant variable dependent on service in percentage , z>0 [Same for all for one service]
  • x= Annual or monthly income. x>=0
  • k= Constant dependent on service,K>0
So we will reach a graph roughly like
Now let's set an expected real working example of redlight jump now with the above equation.
As jumping redlight is a serious offence then I can set this equation as
y= 1% of monthly income +200 RS.

So a person earning 10000 as monthly salary will end up paying the fine as :  1% of 10000+200=300
and a person earning 100000 as monthly salary will end up paying the fine as :  1% of 100000+200=1200

This way is we can spread equality. I have no idea is there such rule exits?? If know such rule anywhere in world let me know.
I want to know your opinion in comments. Feel free to say whatever comes in your mind.

Previous call to my MAMA

I have been always fond of renewable energy.  I always try to figure out that are we doing this right or there are changes  of further improvement ...?
So out of this curiosity I called my mama to get knowledge regarding solar panels who has great experience of dealing with electronics and electric devices. He has already 4 panels. He answered my questions as:
Price : 10 k max per solar plate
Power: 9A per solar plate
Warranty : 25 years!!
What he suggested  for my family  is that two solar panels  will be more than enough for any season. That means initial investment of 20 k. Because we already have Battery-inverter . He told that we can easily  run 2 fans,  a motor for pumping our water to roof top, a PC. A normal household appliance usually works on 5A. So there is enough power generated by these two solar panels to run our household appliances in the day with the inverter charging the battery simultaneously, which can be used in night to run the fans and lit the bulb or CFL.
So on the average one can easily  save 300 rs per month on the average from electricity bill .  So at this minimum rate in 5-6 years your investment will be recovered and you will be helping in reducing your carbon footprint as well as your country's.  This saving of electricity will save us from

   1. Burning our money or creating  a hole in our pocket
   2. Burning coal which can lead us to following benefits
            2a. Reduction of carbon dioxide
2b. Help us making save our forest which usually get destroyed in the process of coal digging.
   3. Less dependence on government
   4. Global warming
   5. Fear of electricity crisis in chilling summer (April to july)

so I have some questions in my mind after the call

  •  Why government is not advertising or promoting this green thing /or any green technology?
  • Why government is not trying to solve our problems permanently
  • Why can't they make a necessary rule to implement this who can easily afford this setup.
  • Why government is feared to take hard steps, just because that they may loose votes? They may loose governance.
Note: MAMA= My mom's brother

Food security bill: make sure India unsecure bill

So , the long awaited food security bill has been passed , due to weak opposition and strong political ruling party. And in this bill 67% of population is to be covered. That means our government admits that in India 67% can't afford any grain above 3 Rs per kg . We all know that a normal quality rice sells around 20Rs per Kg and wheat sells at 15 Rs min. If 67% can't afford any grain above 3 Rs . So how these many people were living in India past 15-20years. ? Were they dying by starvation?
And you know the answer : Its a big NO.
So why this bill? Why now ?
The money government is investing in this bill can be easily invested to many employment generation programs. If somebody gets employed he can purchase goods at a good rate.
I think that making such bill will decrease the passion for work especially the farmers.
This bill will paralize the mass further. I am always against certain waive off on certain things. Or giving something free to somebody.  That's why we can see beggars everwhere. We gave them money and food for free. Why would someone work if he can get it for free.
Now take an example of a farmer who was growing rice until now if not selling just for himself. His cost per Kg comes around 17-18 Rs. So he sells some of it for 30 Rs per Kg. But he can get it now for 3Rs per Kg. So he will purchase at 3 Rs per kg . And will sell at 30 Rs per kg. But guess what who will purchase it . Simply no one because almost everyone is getting it at 3Rs. You will say government will purchase, but at what rate ? 30 Rs. Surely no. Government will purchase at 15-20 Rs. Tell me does a farmer will anything from this bill? I don't think so. I am also a farmer's grandson. I can Surely say that this bill will create chaos. And I have seriously no idea who will be benefited if a normal farmer can't get anything from this.

The root causes of India's all problem

The title is itself not satisfactory to everyone. The whole article is just my thought , correct me if you find something opposite. If you thought this article gonna very long, you are wrong . I am gonna cut it short above your expectation. Here we go ..

1. Population density :
This is major reason behind all problems in india. Here world's 17% population live on world's 7% land. You can calculate easily why every bus, train ,metro is always full imagine what would happen if it was 1/4 of current population.there WILL be no rush in jobs or any thing. India's 40-50 % population will be rich. If people were rich there are few chances of corruption no worries at all.

2. Mentality :
I don't need to explain it much as you are pretty much aware of it. The first point and the second point are very much dependent on each other. In Bhagwat Geeta it is said that don't go after maya and physical collection and we are doing the opposite. We have set the priority of family above the nation. This is why everybody seems to be in trouble either he created it himself or somebody else .

Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam's Speech: A Must Read

I have three visions for India. In 3000 years of our history people from all over the world have come and invaded us, captured our lands, conquered our minds. From Alexander onwards. The Greeks, the Turks, the Moguls, the Portuguese, the British, the French, the Dutch, all of them came and looted us, took over what was ours. Yet we have not done this to any other nation. We have not conquered anyone. We have not grabbed their land, their culture, their history and tried to enforce our way of life on them. Why? Because we respect the freedom of others. That is why my first vision is that of FREEDOM. I believe that India got its first vision of this in 1857, when we started the war of independence. It is this freedom that we must protect and nurture and build on. If we are not free, no one will respect us.

My second vision for India is DEVELOPMENT. For fifty years we have been a developing nation. It is time we see ourselves as a developed nation. We are among top 5 nations of the world in terms of GDP. We have 10 percent growth rate in most areas. Our poverty levels are falling. Our achievements are being globally recognized today. Yet we lack the self-confidence to see ourselves as a developed nation, self-reliant and self-assured. Isn't this incorrect?
I have a THIRD vision. India must stand up to the world. Because I believe that unless India stands up to the world, no one will respect us. Only strength respects strength. We must be strong not only as a military power but also as an economic power. Both must go hand-in-hand. My good fortune was to have worked with three great minds. Dr. Vikram Sarabhai of the Dept. of space, Professor Satish Dhawan, who succeeded him and Dr. Brahm Prakash, father of nuclear material. I was lucky to have worked with all three of them closely and consider this the great opportunity of my life.

I see four milestones in my career:
ONE: Twenty years I spent in ISRO. I was given the opportunity to be the project director for India's first satellite launch vehicle, SLV3. The one that launched Rohini. These years played a very important role in my life of Scientist.

TWO: After my ISRO years, I joined DRDO and got a chance to be the part of India's missile program. It was my second bliss when Agni met its mission requirements in 1994.

THREE: The Dept. of Atomic Energy and DRDO had this tremendous partnership in the recent nuclear tests, on May 11 and 13. This was the third bliss. The joy of participating with my team in these nuclear tests and proving to the world that India can make it, that we are no longer a developing nation but one of them. It made me feel very proud as an Indian. The fact that we have now developed for Agni a re-entry structure, for which we have developed this new material. A Very light material called carbon-carbon.

FOUR: One day an orthopedic surgeon from Nizam Institute of Medical Sciences visited my laboratory. He lifted the material and found it so light that he took me to his hospital and showed me his patients. There were these little girls and boys with heavy metallic calipers weighing over three kg. each, dragging their feet around. He said to me: Please remove the pain of my patients. In three weeks, we made these Floor reaction Orthosis 300 gram calipers and took them to the orthopedic centre. The children didn't believe their eyes. From dragging around a three kg. load on their legs, they could now move around! Their parents had tears in their eyes. That was my fourth bliss!

Why is the media here so negative? Why are we in India so embarrassed to recognize our own strengths, our achievements? We are such a great nation. We have so many amazing success stories but we refuse to acknowledge them. Why? We are the first in milk production. We are number one in Remote sensing satellites. We are the second largest producer of wheat. We are the second largest producer of rice. Look at Dr. Sudarshan, he has transferred the tribal village into a self-sustaining, self-driving unit. There are millions of such achievements but our media is only obsessed in the bad news and failures and disasters.

I was in Tel Aviv once and I was reading the Israeli newspaper. It was the day after a lot of attacks and bombardments and deaths had taken place. The Hamas had struck. But the front page of the newspaper had the picture of a Jewish gentleman who in five years had transformed his desert land into an orchid and a granary. It was this inspiring picture that everyone woke up to. The gory details of killings, bombardments, deaths, were inside in the newspaper, buried among other news. In India we only read about death, sickness, terrorism, crime. Why are we so NEGATIVE? Another question: Why are we, as a nation so obsessed with foreign things? We want foreign TVs, we want foreign shirts. We want foreign technology. Why this obsession with everything imported. Do we not realize that self-respect comes with self-reliance?

I was in Hyderabad giving this lecture, when a 14 year old girl asked me for my autograph. I asked her what her goal in life is: She replied: I want to live in a developed India. For her, you and I will have to build this developed India. You must proclaim. India is not an under-developed nation; it is a highly developed nation.

Allow me to come back with vengeance. Got 10 minutes for your country?
YOU say that our government is inefficient. YOU say that our laws are too old. YOU say that the municipality does not pick up the garbage. YOU say that the phones don't work, the railways are a joke, the airline is the worst in the world, mails never reach their destination. YOU say that our country has been fed to the dogs and is the absolute pits. YOU say, say and say.

What do YOU do about it? Take a person on his way to Singapore. Give him a name - YOURS. Give him a face - YOURS. YOU walk out of the airport and you are at your International best. In Singapore you don't throw cigarette butts on the roads or eat in the stores. YOU are as proud of their Underground Links as they are. You pay $5 (approx. Rs. 60) to drive through Orchard Road (equivalent of Mahim Causeway or Pedder Road) between 5 PM and 8 PM.

YOU comeback to the parking lot to punch your parking ticket if you have over stayed in a restaurant or a shopping mall irrespective of your status identity. In Singapore you don't say anything, DO YOU? YOU wouldn't dare to eat in public during Ramadan, in Dubai. YOU would not dare to go out without your head covered in Jeddah. YOU would not dare to buy an employee of the telephone exchange in London at 10 pounds (Rs. 650) a month to, "see to it that my STD and ISD calls are billed to someone else." YOU would not dare to speed beyond 55 mph (88 kph) in Washington and then tell the traffic cop, "Jaanta hai sala main kaun hoon (Do you know who I am?). I am so and so's son. Take your two bucks and get lost."

YOU wouldn't chuck an empty coconut shell anywhere other than the garbage pail on the beaches in Australia and New Zealand. Why don't YOU spit Paan on the streets of Tokyo? Why don't YOU use examination jockeys or buy fake certificates in Boston? We are still talking of the same YOU. YOU who can respect and conform to a foreign system in other countries but cannot in your own. You who will throw papers and cigarettes on the road the moment you touch Indian ground.

If you can be an involved and appreciative citizen in an alien country why cannot you be the same here in India. Once in an interview, the famous Ex-municipal commissioner of Bombay Mr.Tinaikar had a point to make. "Rich people's dogs are walked on the streets to leave their affluent droppings all over the place," he said. "And then the same people turn around to criticize and blame the authorities for inefficiency and dirty pavements. What do they expect the officers to do? Go down with a broom every time their dog feels the pressure in his bowels? In America every dog owner has to clean up after his pet has done the job. Same in Japan. Will the Indian citizen do that here?" He's right.

We go to the polls to choose a government and after that forfeit all responsibility. We sit back wanting to be pampered and expect the government to do everything for us whilst our contribution is totally negative. We expect the government to clean up but we are not going to stop chucking garbage all over the place nor are we going to stop to pick a up a stray piece of paper and throw it in the bin. We expect the railways to provide clean bathrooms but we are not going to learn the proper use of bathrooms. We want Indian Airlines and Air India to provide the best of food and toiletries but we are not going to stop pilfering at the least opportunity.

This applies even to the staff who is known not to pass on the service to the public. When it comes to burning social issues like those related to women, dowry, girl child and others, we make loud drawing room protestations and continue to do the reverse at home. Our excuse? "It's the whole system which has to change, how will it matter if I alone forego my sons' rights to a dowry." So who's going to change the system? What does a system consist of? Very conveniently for us it consists of our neighbors, other households, other cities, other communities and the government. But definitely not me and YOU.

When it comes to us actually making a positive contribution to the system we lock ourselves along with our families into a safe cocoon and look into the distance at countries far away and wait for a Mr. Clean to come along & work miracles for us with a majestic sweep of his hand. Or we leave the country and run away. Like lazy cowards hounded by our fears we run to America to bask in their glory and praise their system. When New York becomes insecure we run to England. When England experiences unemployment, we take the next flight out to the Gulf. When the Gulf is war struck, we demand to be rescued and brought home by the Indian government. Everybody is out to abuse and rape the country. Nobody thinks of feeding the system. Our conscience is mortgaged to money.

Dear Indians, The article is highly thought inductive, calls for a great deal of introspection and pricks one's conscience too....I am echoing J.F. Kennedy's words to his fellow Americans to relate to Indians.....
"ASK WHAT WE CAN DO FOR INDIA AND DO WHAT HAS TO BE DONE TO MAKE INDIA WHAT AMERICA AND OTHER WESTERN COUNTRIES ARE TODAY"
Lets do what India needs from us.

E-Mail address of Bharataratna Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam is apjabdulkalam@yahoo.com

Above is the article from APJ Abdul Kalam. Now its time to think.
[Hope this article may open some of your senses. As we Indians have very fragile memory when something has to be done beyond family and personal ease]

What we Indians Need to Learn

1. This video shows Indians vs German . But if you replace Germany with any other country the story will be same.. We need to learn some basics of Civic sense, how to behave in society. I feel shame when I know that we are OLDEST civilization but still we don't have any Etiquette.
Now I share some important Etiquette that we Indians usually miss{even in city like Delhi}..

  1.   Spitting on roads, streets, corners of stairs...
  2.   Not following traffic rules in Night{No one follows}
  3.   Pedestrians don't bother traffic light{Even cross road in green Light}
  4.   Not maintaining queue.{if ever been to mehendipur balaji in Rajasthan you can see yourself.
 If we indians can't maintain queue in a temple what do you expect from them(us)}
This video is just a mirror to us
List to be continue...
comment for more suggestions we need to learn
